3 Methods You Can Use to Get The Perfect Tan

Tanning methods can give you the perfect and glowing skin that you have always desired. This will, in turn, boost your confidence and give you a gorgeous look.

However, before proceeding with any of the techniques, you should first use the Fitzpatrick skin chart to know your skin type. This will then guide you into choosing a method that will work for you with minimal side effects.

Here are three commonly used methods that can help you get the perfect tan.

Sunbathing

Sunbathing involves lying or sitting in the sun for a specified time. This is common in places such as the beach and swimming pools. Sunbathe requires that you spend time in the sun when the sun is brightest, which is usually between 10 AM and 4 PM. During this time, you should keep on turning your body to get an even tan.

The advantage of this method is that it is cheap since the sun is available for free. However, sunbathing is not ideal for all, and especially for people with sensitive skin. This is because it has a damaging effect. First, it destroys the outermost cells of the skin, which offers protection to the innermost layers. Secondly, spending too much time in the sun can cause cancer.

Therefore, for a perfect tan, minimize the time you spend in the sun at the beginning and slowly increase the hours as your skin gets used to the sun.

Tanning Beds

Tanning beds use UV lights that emit radiation that is similar to that of the natural sun. Since the machines are placed indoors, the tanning method is suitable for people living in regions where there is no enough sun, such as the polar regions.

The advantage of using tanning beds is that it is not limited to certain hours, as is the case with sunbathing. However, some studies claim that the methods increase the chances of getting cancer if not used properly. Therefore, understand your skin type first to get an idea of how long you should spend on a tanning bed to avoid the adverse effects.

Tanning Injections

If you don’t want to spend many hours in the sun or inside a tanning bed, then you can opt for melanin injections. You can decide to go for subcutaneous or intramuscular injections.

The advantage of tanning injections is that there is an even distribution of the tanning peptide in your body. This ensures there is an even and deeper tan. However, you will still be required to spend a short time in the sun to achieve the perfect tan.

Also, a point to note is that tanning injections do not prevent the burning of the skin by the sun. Thus, you will need to minimize the time you spend in the scorching sun.

In conclusion, sunbathing, tanning beds, and melanin injections will give you the desired tan. However, before proceeding with any of the methods, you should first understand your skin type. This will help you choose a technique with minimal or no adverse effects on your body.
